    MediaNews to furlough more workers  Feb 7, 2009
    MediaNews owns or is a partner in more than 20 newspapers in Texas and New Mexico, including the El Paso (Texas) Times, the Daily Times in Farmington, N.M., and the Carlsbad (N.M.) Current-Argus. Separately, New England Newspapers, which operates several papers in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, announced Friday it was imposing furloughs for about 300 workers. (Denver Business Journal, CO)
