DENISON -- The Harlan Community football team will officially kick off the 2009 season Friday night against an old rival to the north. The Cyclones, who finished 10-2 a year ago, will play a non-district game at Denison-Schleswig (4-5), with the varsity kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. The freshmen will play at 4:45 ... FHC staffer arrested after injury to child May 8, 2009
The boy was taken by the family to a Denison hospital for treatment. Officers allege that Jon Steffan, 30, of Schaller, struck the child in the face while serving as a direct care worker at FHC. Steffan was arrested on Monday and charged with Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury, a felony. (Storm Lake Pilot Tribune, IA)
