The Tigers have made Oklahoma one of their favorite haunts in the draft, and in the 28th round, they tabbed Enid High School's Tobin Mateychick ... Pitching for the Enid Majors, Mateychick has made the adjustment of pitching in a pro-style rotation, and he also threw a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts earlier this summer. Alva student completes a week with Youth Leadership Oklahoma Jul 10, 2009
During the week of June 7-12, YLOK visited Oklahoma City, Stillwater, Enid, Lawton, Ada, Ardmore, and Norman to learn about and experience our state s treasures, meet adult community and state leaders and develop personal leadership skills. The group met for orientation at the Oklahoma History Center, spent time on base at Fort Sill, completed a ropes course and rode the AMTRAK from Ardmore to Norman. (Alva Review Courier, OK)
